Friendly, competitive classes in Speech, Drama, Instrumental, Vocal and Choral Music for over 100 years.

It’s easy to enter:-
• Pick classes
• Complete the entry form
• Submit it by post or by email to secretary.hgmf@outlook.com
• We will then confirm your place and your class details.

We aim to offer all entrants the opportunity to compete in a group of at least three. Where there are fewer than four entrants for a class, the Festival reserves the right to combine similar classes. If there is no suitable alternative class available, entrants will be given the opportunity to take part in a wider, non-competitive, but adjudicated, performance class. (See also General Regulations)
We are of course limited by the availability of time, rooms and adjudicators. There will therefore be limits on the number of places available in classes and sessions. The Festival reserves the right to close classes to further entries where a class or session is fully subscribed. In those circumstances, we will publish the details clearly on our website and will inform anyone whose entry is received after a class is closed as soon as possible (See also General Regulations). Places are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, so we strongly recommend that you submit entries early, to avoid disappointment!
Tickets for audience members will be available in advance or on the day.

 

Choral Day

Our Choral Classes will all be held on Saturday 12th October in the Church.
The capacity is strictly limited and as such, we need to deal with entrants and audiences for these classes slightly differently from the other categories. On the entry form you will be asked for a total number of members of your choir or ensemble. You will be able to request tickets for your supporters and guests, in advance of any general ticket sales. Every effort will be made to allocate the required number of tickets to each choir, subject to the constraint of the capacity of the church. Any remaining tickets will be offered to the Friends of the Festival before being put on advance public sale. It is likely that for some more popular classes there will not be any tickets available on the door.
